As early as 1916 Salzburg’s vice governor Dr August Prinzinger stated that although he had seen mightier mountains and glaciers he had never seen a more beautiful valley than this. That is why he thought a national park should be founded here. Then as well as today countless visitors have been fascinated by this valley.
